• We stayed at the Hypnos Hotel for 12 days/11 nights - in July and August 2011. We had found this wonderful place on the net, where we searched for a unique "Boutique Hotel". And Hypnos Hotel may be said to fully live up to our expectations - and even more !. Hypnos Hotel is a small exclusive design boutique hotel with only 11 rooms / suites. All rooms have their specific design theme - complete in every detail - and designed by Handan Aral (who also owns the hotel). Our arrival at the hotel was undertaken by the Daily Hotel Manager, Burak Dal. He was (and is) a true winner for this hotel :-) When we arrived, he spend a great deal of time with us to welcome us - both in terms of telling us about various interesting sights and - but also giving us various information, which we needed since our stay was partly business also (the first part of the stay). And he knows a lot about the area - and could recommend several great restaurants depending on what kind of food you were into - for instance the fish restaurants at the fish market and the restaurant "House of Medusa" which also is owned by Handan Aral (hotel owner) and this is a fantastic place, which we also have recommended on TripAdvisor :-)). Burak Dal proved to be invaluable during our stay. He was available to us to service virtually all day and night....and if he wasn´t there, he had made sure that other employees handled the good service to guests. We ended up choosing to stay at several of the rooms during our stay - to experience as much as possible of the different bedroom designs. We first had the great "penthouse" suite; Anatolia suite with stunning views of the Haga Sophia from the balcony. A suite with a stunning its details such as integrated shower, som er "open viewed" from the room :-) We lived then in the large Executive room: Room Gypsy, which totally blows one away with its bright colors that match the "theme" and details like. LED lights integrated into the black / purple shower and beautiful flower pots on the balcony where we enjoyed the warm evening atmosphere. In the end we stayed at Executive room: Urania - the second room which is like "Penthouse" - but now with a view of Marmaris / Bosphorus Strait. This room is perhaps a little less than the others we saw, but in return is larger balcony :-) All the rooms we stayed in has great storage space with cabinets, dressers, etc. And in all the bathrooms we saw were wonderful products available, for example, conditioner, body lotion, soap, shampoo, hair dryers, bathrobes, slippers and lovely soft towels. Also - our experience of the beds in each room - it was very positive - and it's not often we have seen this .... so thanks for that too :-) Cleaning service during the stay - top dollar level :-) Breakfast is included in the price - and we were impressed - both with the quality and the fact that breakfast is served inside / outside in the incredibly cozy Cafe EON, which is connected directly to the hotel (located in the hotel's ground floor - with an open kitchen). A wonderful little unique oasis - again with unique design and style - also designed by Handan Aral :-) Each morning, several of the nice employees are ready to meet the varied wishes you may have. If you do not specifically ask for "omelette or yogurt with fruit" or whatever - you get the "standard" (turkish) breakfast, which is an incredible (and not very standard :-)) "breakfast mezeler" you might call it, which consists of several small delicacies to start the morning with ..... It should be chosen by all at least once - but as mentioned, you can also get a more personalized breakfast :-) We certainly expect to go to Istanbul again - both on business and for holiday - and no doubt with us - it is Hypnos Hotel and Burak Dal, we contact for both private and corporate business stays in Istanbul :-) Thanks for a wonderful stay ..... ! • This place has it all. Small and perfectly formed, it is everything you expect a a stylish urban boutique hotel to be. The rooms are beautifully minimal in design without being corporate or sterile and have a quirkiness in the detail that makes it superbly unique (the radios in each room are a perfect modern/retro touch). Restaurant wise, we only really partook of breakfast at the hotel and that was a treat. Simple and filling, but with a real local flavour and done in a tapas style that lets you sample lots of tastes (in fact I still need to ask what goes in the tahini - divine!). The staff members are the perfect balance of friendly and helpful without ever being intrusive. You are not just a room number to them. All you have to do is ask, and they will assist in any way possible. They even will check the taxi meters upon returning from your day/night out to make sure you're not being ripped off by your driver. We never had to ask, but reassuring to know in a city where you *could* possibly encounter the odd unscrupulous taxi driver. Coming back to the rooms after a day of wandering around was always pleasant, the standard to which the rooms were cleaned and maintained were outstanding, even better than some 5* hotels I've been to in the past. Overall, it's an excellent hotel, fairly priced for what you get and can't be beat location wise if your primary purpose is the sites of the historic district, as it's possible to walk to the most important sites in just minutes. Room Tip: Bring earplugs, not because cause the location is noisy, but on the chance you get some loud neighbours as my travelling companion did. • The shortest word for describing to this hotel is; 'WOW' We spnet 4 nights in Istanbul and this hotel was the best part of our stay.We stayed a room called Gypsy.The decore was perfect and the room has a balcony also.The stuff was very senstive and professional.You can ask them hundereds of questions and they'll answer perfectly every time.The hotel was great located to the all attractions.After a long day you can have a coffe in the hotel's cafe and the decore and design makes you smile and relaxing when you're drinking.The hotel is in the busy street so the cars always passing trough in front of the hotel but they've double glassed windows and it's destroying the noise.I guess this is the place that you can have 5 star service with this rates.Thank you for making our stay excellent.I'll definitely come back !!! • we're young couple from Paris and we've stayed this charming hotel for 4 nights.It was totally magnificent.They've different kind of rooms and helpful,always smiling stuff.They're ready to make your stay better always.The room were quite tiny that we've stayed but extremely perfect designed. Location was surprisingly excellent.In couple of minutes by walk;you can find yourself in the middle of the history and historic attractions. The breakfast was ok but was not open buffet.They're serving to your table in the modern designed cosy cafe.It was the lobby at the same time. Thank you for all.I'll definitely come back.

• Due to a booking problem in another hotel, we came to Hypnos.Originally we were going to stay for 3 nights,but we requested to stay 2 more nights at Hypnos because of the friendly staff,good location,nice rooms,peaceful atmosphere in the middle of the city.It was a pleasure staying here,and we will certainly recommend it to our friends in Belgium.
